What this is

Charlotte Estate Planning Attorney Guide is an independent directory and comparison resource covering 200 estate planning attorney businesses in Charlotte. It exists for people trying to sort out a will, a trust, powers of attorney, or a larger estate plan, who need a straightforward way to compare local firms before they pick up the phone. We also generate enquiries for local providers: when you ask to be matched, we pass your enquiry to a relevant provider and may receive a referral fee for that connection. Referral arrangements never affect scores or earned rankings. Full detail on how enquiries get routed and how referral fees work lives on the quote page itself, not buried here.

Where listing data comes from

Every profile starts from public business information: names, addresses, practice areas, contact details, and similar facts anyone could look up. We also synthesize recent Google reviews to understand how a firm is actually performing with clients, but we do not republish review text. Instead we link out to the underlying Google listing so you can read reviews in full and in context, in the firm’s own words rather than ours.

How rankings are earned

Rankings come from a published rubric applied to that data, nothing else. No firm can buy a higher position, and no firm can edit its own score, sentiment, or ranking. What a business can do is correct its own facts: a wrong phone number, an outdated address, a practice area we’ve mischaracterized. Those corrections keep the underlying data accurate, but the scoring and ranking are calculated the same way for everyone. Sponsored listings

Where sponsorship appears, it’s labelled “Sponsored” and shown in its own separate section, distinct from the earned ranking. A sponsored placement is a paid promotional slot, not a ranking, and it never changes where a firm lands in the actual comparison order.

Who runs this

This directory is published by Great Work Research, led by Rod Burnett, a notary public and notary trust delivery agent whose work in estate planning showed him how hard families find it to compare firms when the decisions on the table actually matter. Great Work Research ranks firms using published review data and transparent methodology, never paid placement, and builds listings from public information that is verified monthly. Firms can request corrections at any time. The goal is simple: give families a source they can trust for serious decisions, and let good local firms earn visibility through the work they actually do.

Rankings and editorial oversight are maintained by Rod Burnett, Managing editor. Data across the directory is refreshed monthly, and each listing carries its own “last verified” stamp so you can see the maintenance is active rather than one-off.

Why this approach

Estate planning decisions tend to happen once, under pressure, without much practice at picking a lawyer. A directory built on public data, a published rubric, and monthly verification cannot promise a perfect match.
